ATP BMW Open Munich 2025: Schedule, Top Seeds, Prize Money and More

Zverev is the top seed, Struff is the defending champion.

The ATP BMW Open, formerly known as the Bavarian International Tennis Championships, is a men’s professional tennis tournament which is held in Munich, Germany. It is an ATP-500 competition which is held every year in the month of April. Founded originally as a combined men’s and women’s tournament, the BMW Open was upgraded to a 500-level competition in 2025.

The 2025 edition of the BMW Open in Munich is being held between 14-20 April at the MTTC Iphitos. It will be played on outdoor clay courts with 32 singles entrants and 16 doubles pairs. While the Bavarian Championships were first organised way back in 1900, the BMW Open made its debut at the Iphitos Tennis Club only in 1974.

German star Jan-Lennard Struff is the defending champion in men’s singles at the 2025 BMW Open. Meanwhile, Yuki Bhambri and Albano Olivetti won the men’s doubles crown in 2024. Looking at the competition overall, home favourite Philipp Kohlschreiber is the most successful player at this event – with three trophies between 2007-2016.

ATP BMW Open 2025 Schedule

The 2025 BMW Open in Munich starts with the qualifying tournament on April 12 and April 13. The main draw begins on April 14 on Centre Court, and goes on until Sunday of the same week. Both singles and doubles finals will be played on April 20, 2025.

ATP BMW Open 2025 Draw

Alexander Zverev is the top seed in Munich. He is entering the tournament on the back of some worrisome form – failing to reach a single quarterfinal in his past four tournaments. He will start his campaign against Alexandre Muller of France. Reigning Miami Open champion Jakub Mensik could await him in the quarterfinal stage, while Humbert and Shelton are the projected opponents to round off his path to the championship.

No. 2 seed Ben Shelton has a relatively easier draw in Bavaria. Looking at the draw and current form, his first real challenge should be only in the semifinals – he could face either third seed Auger-Aliassime, fifth seed Cerundolo, or defending champion Struff. Alexander Zverev is the likeliest opponent in the summit clash.
