ATP Barcelona Open 2025: Schedule, Top Seeds, Prize Money and More

The ATP Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell 2025 begins on Monday, April 14 until Sunday, April 20. It is an outdoor clay court event that takes place every year in the month of April. Played at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona, the Barcelona Open was a combined men’s and women’s tournament between 1953 and 1980.

The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell is an ATP-500 level competition, and the 2025 event will be the 72nd edition of the coveted tournament. It features 32 players in the singles category, and 16 pairs in the doubles draw. The Barcelona Open is among the most important events in the Catalonian sporting calendar. Rafael Nadal holds a record 12 singles titles at the event.

Casper Ruud is the defending champion at the 2025 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. He won the competition last year by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-5 6-3 in the final. In the men’s doubles section, the Argentine pairing of Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni edged the Polish/Monegasque duo of Jan Zielinski and Hugo Nys 4-6 6-4 11-9 to capture the trophy.

The 2025 Barcelona Open begins with the qualifying tournament on 12th and 13th April. The Round-1 clashes start on Monday, April 14 at 11 AM local time. Meanwhile, the singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Sunday, April 20 on Pista Rafa Nadal.

ATP Barcelona Open 2025 Top Seeds

Carlos Alcaraz begins as the top seed at the 2025 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. He is a two-time champion at the event, before being dethroned by Casper Ruud in 2024. The Norwegian starts his title defence as the second seed, closely followed by four-time Barcelona runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas. Monte Carlo finalist Lorenzo Musetti had to pull out due to an injury that he sustained in the final, which pushed Frances Tiafoe into his slot.

ATP Barcelona Open 2025 Draw

Top seed Carlos Alcaraz begins his campaign against fellow 21-year-old Ethan Quinn, who came through qualifying. He is likely to come up against Alex de Minaur in the quarterfinal, before a potential blockbuster against Stefanos Tsitsipas or a rematch vs Arthur Fils in the semifinal. Provided he reaches the summit clash, Casper Ruud or Andrey Rublev could await him.

Casper Ruud opens the road to his title retention with a relatively comfortable Round-1 battle with Daniel Galan. In Round-2, it will be either Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard or Hamad Medjedovic. Holger Rune and Andrey Rublev round up his potential path to the final, before he locks horns with Carlos Alcaraz as per the seeding.
