The Belarusian ace saved four match points to defeat Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals, while Vondrousova got better of Ons Jabeur in straight sets to reach the top four.
Aryna Sabalenka proved in the quarterfinals why she is the No. 1 tennis player. The Belarusian ace came back from 2-6 down in the 3rd set tiebreak and saved four straight match points to overcome Elena Rybakina 7-6(6), 3-6, 7-6(6) to reach the semifinals in Berlin. She has been outstanding throughout the season with a 42-7 record. She reached the finals of two Grand Slam events this year and won three WTA titles. Before entering the Berlin Open, she had a 2-4 run in the competition but now, she is one more win away to play maiden German Open final. Her grass-court semifinal record stands at 2-2 which is a concern for a No. 1 player.

Marketa Vondrousova came through a dominating run in the Berlin Open and beat top-ranked players, Keys, Shnaider, and Jabeur. During her semifinal run, the former world No. 6 didn’t drop a single set. Before this event, she had a 6-5 record in 2025 and now, won three straight games. She saved four break points against Jabeur in the quarterfinals. The Czech Republican ace knows how to dominate grass court as she won the 2023 Wimbledon.
