Arsenal are closing in on a sensational move to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. They are set to beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race for the English player. As per The Athletic, an agreement in principle has been reached between Arsenal and Eze.
The deal is expected to be worth around £60 million, plus potential add-ons. Thus, aligning with the value of Eze’s recently expired release clause. According to reports, Eze prefers a switch to Arsenal, where he spent time in the academy and supported the club as a youngster.
That is even after Spurs engage in advanced talks with Palace for 10 days. Tottenham had even considered including Richarlison in a potential swap deal. However, Arsenal’s late intervention has turned the tide firmly in their favour. The move is expected to gather pace after Thursday’s UEFA Conference League play-off.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner confirmed Eze will start that match against Fredrikstad. Referring to both Eze and Marc Guehi, he said, “They are good, they are committed to the team. When one of the players will leave, they want to leave as the guys who always gave 100 per cent for Crystal Palace.”
Eze, 27, is poised to become Arsenal’s seventh signing of the summer under sporting director Andrea Berta. He has orchestrated the negotiations alongside vice-chairman Tim Lewis. This aggressive recruitment drive has already seen the Gunners add multiple amazing talents.

This includes goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, defender Cristhian Mosquera, midfield duo Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, winger Noni Madueke, and striker Viktor Gyokeres. The pursuit of Eze comes amid concerns over Kai Havertz’s knee injury.
The injury could sideline the German for a spell. Mikel Arteta views Eze as a versatile forward option capable of slotting into multiple attacking roles. He has been a standout performer for Crystal Palace since he joined them from Queens Park Rangers in 2020. He has made 169 appearances for the Eagles.

It is sure to be a major coup for them in this transfer window.
