Angel Reese Makes WNBA History
Angel Reese is breaking records on her recent return from the sidelines. Her most recent accomplishment surpassed that of WNBA veteran Tina Charles in a notable category. This happened during the Chicago Sky vs Las Vegas Aces game on Monday.
Reese recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points while also collecting 17 rebounds in the game. The forward shattered the record for the highest number of double-doubles in a player’s initial two seasons throughout WNBA history.
Tina Charles held the prior record for the most number of double-doubles across the first two seasons of a career. She had 45, while Angel Reese has now overtaken her with a 46th double-double on Monday against the Las Vegas Aces.

The forward managed to do so in record time as well. Tina Charles set her mark in 68 games, while Angel Reese reached it in just her 61st game. She has been a massive force around the board, which is reflecting in her records as well.
Although Monday turned out to be a landmark evening for Angel Reese, her team endured their eighth defeat within the past 10 games. The Chicago Sky is now eliminated from WNBA playoffs contention alongside the Dallas Wings and the Connecticut Sun as well.
Their opponent Las Vegas Aces are on a hot streak with 11 straight wins. Momentum was clearly on Vegas’ side in Chicago. Despite building a first half lead, the Aces found themselves in a precarious position as the Sky staged a third quarter comeback with a 24-16 margin.
However, the A’ja Wilson-guided team maintained their composure during the fourth quarter and closed the game strongly, securing a 79-74 victory. Jackie Young scored 22 points, while A’ja managed 18 points.
On the Chicago Sky side, Ariel Atkins achieved a game-high total of 30 points in her performance. Kamilla Cardoso also scored a double-double with 19 points, and 10 rebounds to her name.
