Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli Head-to-Head Record, Preview, Prediction, and Betting Odds for ATP Halle Open 2025 Quarterfinal

Alexander Zverev looking for his first grass title

It’s quarterfinal day at the 2025 Halle Open, and the second match at OWL Arena features the second seed, Alexander Zverev, up against Italy’s Flavio Cobolli. The winner of this match will earn a spot in the semifinals, where they will take on either Daniil Medvedev or Alex Michelsen.

The German will have home support on his side, meaning Cobolli will certainly have his work cut out. But the Halle Open has already seen the shock exit of world number 1, Jannik Sinner. Will the number 2 seed follow suit today?

Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli Preview

Zverev enters today’s quarterfinal after an easy win in the first round over Marcos Giron, but took three sets to get by Lorenzo Sonego in the previous round. However, he had a strong service game with 10 aces and 90% first serves.

Throughout his career, Zverev holds a nice record on grass with 42 wins and 21 losses, but he has yet to lift a title on this surface. This year on grass, the German has 35 aces and 8 double faults, but has won 93% of his service games.

Cobolli’s path to the quarters has been tough, with both of his previous matches turning out to be tough three-setters against Joao Fonseca and Denis Shapovalov. The 23-year-old is just 3-4 on grass in his career, but has shown the determination to do better in this event.

Having said that, the Italian has had decent success this season with titles at Bucharest and Hamburg, but his serving will have to be spot on if he has any chance at winning today.

Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli Berlin Open Prediction

As things stand, the German number 2 seed is clearly the favorite to win. He has a more complete game, and breaking his serve has been a problem for opponents. Despite not winning a title on grass courts, Zverev has performed quite well on the surface.

Moreover, the German crowd will provide a lot of encouragement and support, and breaking his opponent should be easier considering the Italian’s struggles to hold this year.

Match Prediction: Zverev wins in straight sets
