Volkanovski turned pro in 2012, and quickly amassed an impressive record with his impressive striking ability and suffocating pressure. Alexander Volkanovski has lost against following opponents in his MMA career and they are;

  • Corey Nelson: Volk’s first loss came on May 10, 2013 against Cory Nelson at Australian Fighting Championship 5, and he lost the fight in 3 rounds after getting knocked out.
  • Islam Makhachev: Volk first loss in the UFC came via unanimous decision against the lightweight champion in Islam Makhachev at UFC 284. His loss also ended his win streak of 5 straight title fight defenses, and 12-0 start of his UFC career. The second time Volk faced Makhachev, the match ended up having a similar outcome and this time Makhachev finished Volkanovski via knockout at UFC 294.

Topuria threw a devastating blow to Volkanovski which finished the fight in round 2 of the contest at UFC 298. There was a clear distinction between Topuria and Volk in their fight, and we could not believe the way things ended for Volkanovski.

Volkanovski is an MMA record of 26-4-0 and even though he been on a slump as of late, we need to remember than the Aussie is still one of the best fighters in the world today, and his win-loss record clearly shows which side he falls on more often than not. After Topuria vacated the featherweight division, Diego Lopes is set to take on Volkanovski for a title fight at UFC 314 to decide the featherweight champion.

But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
