Magomed Ankalaev is presently the Light Heavyweight Champion in the UFC. He also posted that he has received a rematch offer against Alex Pereira in August and he accepted it. Pereira has also seemingly accepted the offer and is waiting for the contract. Moreover, he was also backed by one of his bitter rivals in this rematch. Jamahal Hill was questioned by The Schmo about his opinions regarding Alex Pereira’s rematch with Magomed Ankalaev. Hill responded (via The Schmo on Instagram)-
“He has the ability to beat Ankalaev, but it’s all about how he makes adjustments”.
Notably, Dana White, the CEO of UFC has also wanted to see a rematch between Alex Pereira vs Magomed Ankalaev. All this happened after Joe Rogan revealed in his podcast that Alex Pereira was suffering from a broken hand and Norovirus during his fight against Magaomed Ankalaev. Pereira had also acknowledged his injuries but did not go into details about it.
Alex Pereira’s rematch against Magomed Ankalaev is supposed to happening in August. Ankalaev revealed this through his official X account –

I was offered a rematch with him in August and I said yes, but if he is not ready I will fight whoever is next it doesn’t matter.
Alex Pereira on his part also feels that Magomed Ankalev will be next for him once he returns from his short break. He revealed that he had not received an offer yet but he agreed with August. He also revealed that he will sign the contract as soon as he gets it. “Poatan” also claimed that he has enough game to end Magomed Anakalaev any way he wants to and the ending does not need to be a knockout.
It seems that a little backing from Jamahal Hill has fired Alex Pereira up against Magomed Ankalaev. He wants his title back. Now, it’s just a matter of time before Dana White makes a rematch between these two official in August.
