Can the French qualifier stun the number 11 seed?
Wimbledon 2025 continues with more round 2 action on day 4 of the Championships at the All England Club. In the men’s draw, the number 11 seed Alex de Minaur goes up against French qualifier Arthur Cazaux on Court 2. This will be the first meeting between the players, with the winner progressing to the third round.
Despite not winning a title so far this season, the world number 11 has put together a string of good performances. He has made multiple quarterfinal and semifinal runs, as well as appearing in the final at Rotterdam.
De Minaur has generally played well on grass, where he holds a 32-18 record. His only grass tournament before Wimbledon was Queens, but he lost in the first round. Nevertheless, the Australian cruised through to the second round at Wimbledon 2025 following a straight-sets win over Roberto Carballes Baena.

22-year-old Arthur Cazaux is still finding his way at the highest level of the tennis tour. He has featured in several challenger-level tournaments this year, but has not had much success. He has come through to the second round at SW19 on the back of three qualifying rounds and a five-set round one win over Adam Walton.
The Frenchman served very well in his opening round match, firing down 24 aces and landing 71% of his first serves. He also had 81 winners as against 56 unforced errors, while allowing only one break from 7 chances.

Alex de Minaur and Arthur Cazaux will contest their first-ever match on tour. Cazoux has played well to reach the second round, but can he topple the consistent game of the number 11 seed is the question.
| Alex de Minaur | Category | Arthur Cazaux |
|---|---|---|
| 11 | Ranking | 115 |
| 276-167 | Career W-L | 14-24 |
| 27-12 | YTD W-L | 3-6 |
| 9 | Career Titles | 0 |
| 0 | Grand Slams | 0 |
| 0 | YTD Titles | 0 |
The Australian hasn’t had many matches on grass this season, but that said, he did sail through his first round. Despite that, it wasn’t his best match as he landed only 47% of his first serves and won just 65% of the points at the net. He will have to be more consistent to come through in this round.
Cazaux has played well thus far, and his first-round win displayed his serving ability. However, he will be going up against one of the better players on tour. It will not be easy to win against the Australian, especially if he is back to his reliable self.
