Arman Tsarukyan unleashes a brutal verbal shot at the lightweight champ, echoing Islam Makhachev’s UFC PI quote!
Things have gotten particularly spicy in the lightweight division since Islam Makhachev vacated his title earlier this year. When the Dagestani champion decided to move up to welterweight, it left behind a power vacuum that Ilia Topuria quickly filled by knocking out Charles Oliveira at UFC 317. But not everyone is happy with how things have played out since then. The tension between top contenders has been building like pressure in a steam cooker.
Arman Tsarukyan has been particularly vocal about his frustrations with the new champion’s approach to picking opponents. The Armenian fighter was supposed to get his shot at Makhachev at UFC 311, but a back injury forced him out of that title fight. Now he’s watching from the sidelines as Topuria seems more interested in fighting fan favorites like Paddy Pimblett instead of the division’s top ranked killers. That frustration finally boiled over in the most creative and savage way possible, with Tsarukyan using social media to deliver a brutal roast!
Anyone who’s visited the UFC Performance Institute knows about the motivational quotes scattered around the facility. One of the most famous belongs to Islam Makhachev, who once declared that he would fight anybody, anytime, and anywhere. Dana White loved that quote so much that he had it immortalized on the wall for all fighters to see. It’s the kind of warrior mentality that made Makhachev such a dominant champion. This also earned him respect throughout the entire MMA community.
But Tsarukyan saw an opportunity to turn that inspiring message into trash talk. Taking to X, the Armenian wrote that while Islam’s quote deserves its place on the wall, maybe it’s time for Dana White to put up a different kind of motivational message for the current lightweight champion. Specifically, he suggested placing a reminder in the bathroom telling Topuria not to sit down while using the facilities.
”Islam has a great quote at the UFC PI, he will fight anybody, anytime, and anywhere. Hey Dana maybe now’s a good time to put a quote in the bathroom for Ilia reminding him not to sit down while pissing – thanks boss”

Tsarukyan’s bathroom joke might seem juvenile on the surface. However, it actually highlights a serious issue about champions cherry-picking opponents instead of facing the toughest available challenges. Whether this social media warfare leads to an actual fight between these two remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure. Arman Tsarukyan just delivered one of the most memorable callouts in recent UFC history.
