Popular streamer Adin Ross recently found himself caught up in what could have been a massive financial disaster. The Miami-based content creator has built his empire by bringing celebrities and athletes onto his platform, often paying substantial amounts for these appearances. His streams regularly pull in hundreds of thousands of viewers, making these collaborations incredibly valuable for both parties involved.

Ross has previously featured major UFC stars on his channel, understanding that fight fans love seeing their favorite fighters in casual settings. With Khamzat Chimaev set to fight for his first UFC title against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 319 on August 16, the timing seemed perfect for a high profile collaboration. The undefeated Chechen fighter has become one of the most talked about prospects in the sport, especially after his devastating first round submission of former champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308. Getting Chimaev on stream would have been a major coup for any content creator.

The Outrageous $700K Demand That Raised Red Flags

When Ross reached out to secure an appearance from the rising UFC star, he received a response that left him speechless. The person claiming to represent Chimaev demanded an eye watering $700,000 for a single stream appearance. To put this in perspective, most UFC fighters don’t even make that much for an entire fight, let alone a casual conversation on a livestream. The amount was so absurd that Ross couldn’t help but laugh about it publicly.

The streamer has paid substantial amounts to celebrities before, but this figure was completely out of line with industry standards. Even A-list musicians and actors typically command far less for similar appearances. The astronomical price tag should have been the first major warning sign that something wasn’t right with this supposed representative.

Islam Makhachev’s Manager Swoops In To Save The Day

Fortunately for Ross, the story took a dramatic turn when the right people caught wind of what was happening. Ali Abdelaziz saw the viral clip of Ross discussing the ridiculous fee. Abdelaziz represents some of the biggest names in the sport, including former champions and current title contenders, so he knows exactly what realistic appearance fees should look like. Even Chimaev himself got wind of the situation, posting on social media saying “Who is this bulls**t Gay?” It seems like Chimaev hilself didn’t even know what was happening.

Abdelaziz immediately recognized that Ross had been dealing with a complete imposter. Islam Makhachev’s manager wasted no time in reaching out to set the record straight. He contacted Ross directly to explain that the person demanding $700,000 was a fraud who had no connection whatsoever to Chimaev or his team. More importantly, Abdelaziz provided Ross with the actual contact information for Chimaev’s legitimate manager.

This intervention potentially saved Ross from making one of the most expensive mistakes of his streaming career. Now that Ross has the correct contact information, there’s a genuine possibility that fans could see Chimaev appear on the popular stream in the near future, assuming they can work out reasonable terms that make sense for both parties.
