UFC Vegas 108 Main Card Results

The main event of UFC Vegas 108 belonged to Tatsuro Taira. He faced HyunSung Park, who stepped in on short notice but couldn’t handle Taira’s elite grappling skills. Taira dropped Park in the first round and controlled him with superior wrestling. The second round ended quickly when Taira secured back control and locked in a face crank at 1:06. Park had no choice but to tap out, giving Taira a statement win that puts him right back in title contention.

Chris Duncan and Mateusz Rebecki delivered an absolute war in the co-main event that had Fight of the Night written all over it. Rebecki started strong with his typical high energy approach, but Duncan weathered the storm and found his rhythm. A nasty elbow in the second round opened up Rebecki, and Duncan’s superior conditioning showed in the final round. The judges scored it 29-28, 29-28, and 30-27 for Duncan.

Esteban Ribovics outworked Elves Brener over three rounds of non stop action, winning by unanimous decision with scores of 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27. Both men threw everything they had, but Ribovics had the edge in meaningful strikes throughout the fight. Karol Rosa dominated Nora Cornolle with superior grappling and ground control, winning 30-27, 29-27, and 29-27 on the scorecards. Rosa scored takedowns in rounds two and three, keeping Cornolle on her back and threatening with submission attempts while landing ground strikes.

Neil Magny showed the heart of a true veteran in his clash with Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos. The welterweight legend found himself behind on the scorecards and spent most of the second round on his back. But when Magny got back to his feet, everything changed. He hurt dos Santos with heavy knees to the head, dragged him to the ground, and finished him with ground strikes from back mount at 4:39 of round two. The stoppage victory snapped a two-fight losing streak for Magny.

Kevin Vallejos opened the main card with a solid decision win over Danny Silva. The Argentine prospect showed his potential by outworking Silva over three competitive rounds. Vallejos mixed his attacks well, landing more volume and variety while Silva preferred to showboat after slipping punches instead of throwing back. The judges scored it 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27 for Vallejos, who improved to 2-0 in the UFC.

UFC Vegas 108 Preliminary Card Results

The preliminary card kicked off with Piera Rodriguez edging out Ketlen Souza in a close strawweight battle. Rodriguez used her wrestling to control most of the fight, taking Souza down six times and controlling from top position. The judges split on this one, giving Rodriguez the win by scores of 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28.

Rafael Estevam stayed undefeated but made headlines for the wrong reasons. He dominated Felipe Bunes in their flyweight matchup, winning every round after the first to take a unanimous decision. However, Estevam badly missed weight for the second time in three fights, putting a dark cloud over his otherwise impressive performance. Austin Bashi bounced back from his debut loss in impressive style. He ran through John Yannis, submitting him with a rear-naked choke at 3:39 of the first round.

Andrey Pulyaev finally got his first UFC win after losing his debut earlier this year. The Russian middleweight stopped Nick Klein at 1:31 of round two with a beautiful combination of strikes. Rodolfo Vieira proved his striking has improved dramatically since joining the Fighting Nerds gym in Brazil. The multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion outstruck Tresean Gore for three rounds, winning his first decision victory in the UFC.

The card ended with a brutal liver kick finish that had everyone wincing. Rinya Nakamura dropped Nathan Fletcher with a perfectly placed kick to the body at 1:02 of round one. Fletcher immediately backed away. When Nakamura pressed forward, Fletcher toppled over, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
