Taylor Fritz vs. Jiri Lehecka Head-to-Head, Prediction, and Betting Odds for ATP National Bank Open 2025 Round of 16

Unfinished Business: Fritz, Lehecka Renew Rivalry After Two-Year Gap

Second seed Taylor Fritz is set to take on 19th seed Jiri Lehecka in the fourth round of the National Bank Open in Toronto. Both players received first-round byes. Fritz then breezed past Roberto Carballes Baena and 27th seed Gabriel Diallo in straight sets, while Lehecka overcame Mackenzie McDonald and outlasted 15th seed Arthur Fils in three sets.

Fritz is in the midst of a career-best season. His biggest moment came at Wimbledon, where he reached his first Grand Slam semifinal, losing only to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz. He’s also posted quarterfinal runs in Geneva, Washington, and Delray Beach. The American reached a career-high ranking of world No. 4 and collected titles in Eastbourne and Stuttgart with statement wins over Jenson Brooksby and Alexander Zverev. Stat-wise, he has fired 526 aces, an 80% win rate on first-serve points, and a 44% break point conversion across 280 opportunities.

Lehecka has had a more turbulent year but is still dangerous. He lifted the Brisbane title (via a walkover of Reilly Opelka in the final), reached the final in London, and made the semifinals in Doha. The Czech’s serve remains a weapon with 310 aces, 75% first-serve points won, and a 45% break point conversion from 236 opportunities. But he didn’t have as brilliant a season as Fritz.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
