Formula 1 congratulates Jannik Sinner for his victory in the 2025 Wimbledon finals.
Jannik Sinner is the name on every Tennis fan’s lips currently. The Italian tennis player has become the first from his nation to win the Wimbledon Tennis Championship. Jannik Sinner defeated his staunch rival, Carlos Alcaraz at the 2025 Wimbledon Finals to claim the title. His victory in Wimbledon comes after series of defeats to Alcaraz in the previous tournaments.
However, knowing Jannik Sinner, he did not miss a chance to make a Formula 1 reference post-match. This time he talked about how his brother was visiting the match only because there was no Formula 1 race scheduled. Earlier on, Jannik Sinner joked about rescheduling his practice sessions to watch the Formula 1 British Grand Prix held from July 4-6.
Sure enough, Formula 1 was quick to celebrate his achievement. Formula 1 put out an official post on their Instagram to congratulate Jannik Sinner for his historic achievement. Formula 1 also reveals that Sinner is an ambassador for the sport and huge supporter of racing.
The sport of Formula 1 and Tennis often found collaborating with each other. There are many drives who play tennis as a hobby. Every year during the multiple tennis tournaments, Formula 1 drivers can be spotted during the matches.
Jannik Sinner is a popular figure in the Formula 1 paddock. He is also the favourite of Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team, who had predicted that Sinner would win the championship in Wimbledon. Similarly, Sinner is also a huge fan of Charles Leclerc. Sinner wanted Ferrari and Leclerc to win the British Grand Prix but unfortunately his wishes did not come true.
Jannik became an official ambassador for Formula 1 ahead of the 2024 F1 season. He awarded the official title of Friend of F1. The Italian champion attends F1 races as a part of his duties to promote fan engagement and increase the reach of the sport among other audiences as well.
"I will manage my practice sessions around the race."

Talking about his love for Formula 1, Sinner says-
“Being Italian, F1 is in my blood, so I couldn’t be more excited to be working with not only the best brand in motorsports, but the best sports platform in the world. I am honoured to be given this opportunity and truly thrilled to be a Friend of F1. Putting it simply, I love cars, motorsport, and the thrill of racing and competing.”
“One of the main reasons why I love F1, whether that’s watching, karting with my friends, or racing in a simulator, is because I feel there’s a lot of synergies between tennis and racing. I feel that in both sports it’s all about the 1% and it’s the small details that make a huge difference. I find it so interesting how teams can improve the car, and how the drivers maximise their performance and their skill set to beat their rival by milliseconds. It’s fascinating how they compete and perform under the most extreme pressure at the highest-level week in and week out.”
The partnership between Formula 1 and Jannik Sinner seems to be working well as a crossover between the two sports. There were multiple interviews for Sinner during the Wimbledon Tennis championship which mentioned his association to the sport and love for F1 racing.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
