The New Day turning heel actually proved to be fruitful for the tag team as they won tag team gold against the War Raiders. They have been shying away from a fight ever since. They faced Finn Balor and JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day for the WWE World Championship in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Finn Balor and JD McDonagh lost their title to the War Raiders, but the latter lost those titles to the new New Day at WrestleMania. They have been trying to avoid facing other tag teams ever since.

The Judgment Day Ends New Day’s World Tag Team Title Reign

Finn Balor and JD McDonagh defeated New Day to become the New World Tag Team Champions. This ended New Day’s 73-day title reign, which started when they defeated War Raiders at WrestleMania. The title completed a full circle before coming back to the Judgment Day. A much-needed success for both Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.

New Day cheated when Xavier Woods hit Finn Balor with the Championship belt, but the latter was still able to kick out. New Day inflicted so much punishment on Judgment Day, especially Finn Balor, but he wasn’t ready to be pinned tonight. They even hit Midnight Hour on Finn Balor, a move that has given them so much success in the past, but it still wasn’t enough to keep Finn down.

JD McDonagh delivered a Spanish Fly to Xavier Wood in the ring while Finn delivered a Sling Blade to Kofi Kingston outside the ring. Finn Balor tapped in and delivered a Coup De Grace to Xavier Woods to win the match and become the new World Tag Team Champions.
