A 5-game win streak has the Bears leading the NFC after Week 13!
A lot happened in Week 13 of the 2025-26 NFL season. First of all, all 32 teams were in action, and we witnessed three games on ‘Thanksgiving Day’ followed by one on Black Friday. The week came to an end with the Patriots vs Giants game on Monday Night Football (MNF).
There were as many as seven upsets this week, and that has led to some changes in the playoff chances for teams. Moreover, quite a few teams also joined the Giants in being eliminated from the playoff race for this season.
So without further ado, here we take a look at the latest playoff chances for all teams ahead of Week 14 as per the official NFL website.
Taking a look at the playoff picture on the AFC side of things, the Patriots and the Broncos are at the top of the standings and also have a 99% chance of making it to the postseason. The Jaguars and the Ravens are next in playoff seedings as the current leaders of the AFC South and the AFC North, respectively. Jacksonville has an 81% chance of progressing to the playoffs, while Baltimore has a 69% chance.
The final three seedings in the AFC belong to the Chargers, Colts, and Bills. However, out of these three teams, the Bills actually hold a massive 91% chance of making it to the postseason, whereas the Chargers and Colts are at 62% and 70%, respectively.
The table below represents the AFC playoff picture if the season ended today, with odds sourced by FanDuel.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | New England Patriots | 11-2 | 99% | Not provided |
| 2 | Denver Broncos | 10-2 | 99% | -10000 |

| 6 | Indianapolis Colts | 8-4 | 70% | -265 |
| 7 | Buffalo Bills | 8-4 | 91% | -2200 |
On the NFC side, the Bears have surprised everyone by snatching the top seed from the Rams after their Week 13 win over the Eagles. The Rams, meanwhile, lost to the Panthers, shaking things up quite a bit at the top.
Having said that, the Bears still hold just a 75% chance of progressing to the postseason, largely due to the stiff competition within the division from the Packers and Lions. The Rams hold a 96% chance, while the Eagles are at 94%.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are next with an 85% chance, while the Seahawks, Packers, and 49ers come in with 93%, 89%, and 92%.

Last week, the NFC had only two teams in contention, the Detroit Lions and the Carolina Panthers. This week, however, after the Cowboys defeated the Chiefs, Dallas’ chances of making it to the playoffs have increased significantly. Although that number is still quite less, the Cowboys still have hope.
The table below represents the NFC teams still in contention, with odds sourced by FanDuel
| Seed | Team | Record | Playoff Probability | FanDuel Odds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | Detroit Lions | 7-4 | 43% | +130 |
| 9 | Dallas Cowboys | 6-5-1 | 17% | +265 |
| 10 | Carolina Panthers | 7-6 | 17% | +390 |
With just 5 games left till the end of the regular season, there are multiple teams that have a next to nothing chance at progressing. Despite that, most of these teams are only hanging on since they have yet to be officially eliminated.
The table below represents the AFC and NFC teams nearly out of the playoffs
| Team | Record | Playoff Probability |
|---|---|---|
| Miami Dolphins | 5-7 | Less than 1% |
| Cincinnati Bengals | 4-8 | 2% |
| New York Jets | 3-9 | Less than 1% |
| Cleveland Browns | 3-9 | Less than 1% |
| Atlanta Falcons | 4-8 | Less than 1% |
| Minnesota Vikings | 4-8 | Less than 1% |
| Washington Commanders | 3-9 | Less than 1% |
At the end of Week 12, the New York Giants became the first team to be completely out of the playoff race for the 2025-26 season. After this week’s games, the Cardinals, Saints, Raiders, and Titans have all joined them.

nfl I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
