The series keeps getting more interesting

The Thunder’s heartbeat, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, once again rescued them out of a pinch during Game 4. Like Game 3, both teams traded sucker punches throughout the affair. The Pacers actually had a seven-point lead entering the fourth quarter.

Alex Caruso and Chet Holmgren helped their team tie things up. Meanwhile, Shai went on a personal 15-point run in the last four minutes to close out the game. He finished with 35 points, making 50% of his FG and nailing all 10 free-throw attempts.

On the other hand, Jalen Williams had 27 while Alex Caruso was a huge difference-maker with 20 off the bench. For the Pacers, the scoring balance was also fantastic with Tyrese Haliburton, Obi Toppin, and Pascal Siakam scoring in the 17-20 range.

However, they were massively outrebounded as OKC had a 43-33 advantage(12-7 offensive rebounds). Meanwhile, the Thunder were an excellent 34-38 (89%)from the charity stripe, compared to the Pacers’ 25-33 free-throw performance.

The Thunder’s mid-range and interior prowess helped negate a huge three-point disparity as the Pacers made 11 compared to just three by them. It is one of the few occasions when a team with such a huge deep-range disadvantage emerged as victorious.

The Thunder will return with a ton of confidence on their home floor. Meanwhile, the Pacers also know how to bounce back from losses.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander U 34.5 points: SGA has been in tremendous form throughout the postseason. He scored 33+ for the fifth time in six games. Thus, an “over” for his projected range has been a safer bet. However, I see the Pacers holding him below 33 here.

Tyrese Haliburton U 18.5 points: Like SGA, Haliburton is also usually hovering around the 1-2 points range of his Over/Under. He has scored 17 or fewer points in four straight road games, so I would go for “Under” here.

Chet Holmgren O 8.5 rebounds: Holmgren’s rebounding numbers decreased after the Western Semi-Finals, but he has pinned down at least 10 rebounds (15 in Game 3) in two straight games. I expect him to notch at least 9 here, too.

The series has been a battle of equals thus far. The Thunder has cleared the spread in two games, whereas the same goes for the Pacers. However, overall, Indiana has been going against the spread more often as they have been underdogs in three straight series.

At any rate, OKC will be buoyed after winning Game 4, and it can be a turning point for them. On the other hand, we know what the resilient Pacers can do. For this game, I predict an OKC win, but at the same time, I expect the Pacers to cover the spread.
