The YouTuber has genuine knockout power and takes training seriously. But he’s never stepped in the ring with an elite-level heavyweight. Now he’s reportedly facing Anthony Joshua in December in Miami. Former champion David Haye has sounded the alarm over Jake Paul’s safety with some absolutely terrifying predictions about what could happen.

David Haye’s Dire Warning About Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua

David Haye didn’t hold back when discussing this potential matchup recently. The former world champion painted a genuinely frightening picture of possibilities if Paul fought Joshua. Talking to Sky Sports, this is what he said:

“If Jake Paul is left with Anthony Joshua unloading on him, it could be the end for him. It could be his last day on earth. It shouldn’t go ahead. There is no reason for it to go ahead. It’s going to be brutal. I hope they have got good paramedics close by.”

That’s not typical pre-fight hype or exaggeration for attention. Haye genuinely believes this fight poses life-threatening danger to Paul (12-1). He continued with even more alarming comments about the situation. Those warnings carry serious weight coming from someone like Haye. He competed at the highest level as a world champion. He’s been in the ring with devastating punchers throughout his career. When a former champion says someone might not survive, people listen.

Haye described the skill gap in terms that leave no ambiguity. He won Olympic gold for Great Britain in 2012. The man has fought the absolute best heavyweights on the planet. Paul has fought exactly zero elite-level boxers during his career. His resume includes Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley twice, Anderson Silva, and Mike Tyson. All were either past their prime or coming from different combat sports. None possessed Joshua’s combination of size, skill, and punching power.

But the money involved is absolutely massive for everyone. Netflix is streaming the event to millions of subscribers worldwide. Paul and Joshua will both earn ridiculous paychecks regardless of outcome. Haye acknowledged this financial reality outweighs safety concerns for promoters. The show will probably go on despite the warnings!
