The Last Time is Now Tournament: Sheamus vs. Shinsuke Nakamura on Monday Night Raw

Ashish Negi

Sheamus and Rusev will face each other in the second high-stakes first-round match of “The Last Time is Now” contest that will start on Monday Night Raw tonight. This tournament will decide John Cena’s opponent in his last match at SNME, and sixteen men will participate in it. This bout will pit Sheamus’ brawling style against Shinsuke Nakamura’s unpredictable but calculated striking ability.

The clash between Sheamus and Shinsuke Nakamura is all set to be a stiff and hard-hitting affair. Sheamus and Shinsuke Nakamura have faced each other multiple times in WWE, most of which come in the form of tag team matches. The only time they faced each other in a singles match was on the April 22, 2024, episode of Monday Night Raw, where Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura.

The Celtic Warrior Speculated to Dethrone the King of Strong Style.

It is speculated that Sheamus would defeat Shinsuke Nakamura. Sheamus has already faced John Cena multiple times, including the two times when he dethroned him to become the new world champion. His advancement in the tournament will bring him one step closer to a match against the WWE legend and his old opponent, John Cena.

Shinsuke Nakamura could attempt to exhaust Sheamus with his erratic maneuvers and knee strikes, but Sheamus would rely on his toughness to counter him. Sheamus’ victory might pit him against the winner of the match between Rusev and Damian Priest, both of whom are forces to reckon with.

While Rusev has already defeated Sheamus at the big stage by making him tap out to the Accolade, Damian Priest has also remained unbeaten against Sheamus in three singles matches that they were part of. Sheamus would need to put in significant effort to qualify for the next stage if it turns out that he would compete against the victor of the match between Rusev and Damian Priest.
