The Philadelphia Eagles are travelling on the road to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Week 4’s matchup on September 28, 2025. The Eagles enter Week 4 undefeated at 3-0, riding high as Super Bowl champions with a balanced attack led by Jalen Hurts’ efficient passing and Saquon Barkley’s record-breaking ground game. Their latest escape against the Rams showcased defensive grit, blocking a field goal for a game-sealing touchdown return, while the secondary bolstered by Cooper DeJean, ranks 11th against the pass. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have combined for explosive plays, making Philly a juggernaut poised to extend their streak.

Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also 3-0 but have survived by the slimmest margins, outscoring opponents by just six points total in razor-thin win over the Falcons, Texans, and Jets. Baker Mayfield’s steady hand an a top-ranked run defense have masked offensive line injuries and Mike Evans’ recent hamstring setback, though Chris Godwin’s potential return offers some hope. At home, where they stunned Philly last season, the Bucs aim to exploit the Eagles’ road woes in this clash of the unbeaten teams.
The Eagles and the Buccaneers are some of the best teams in the NFL currently, with both teams undefeated and trying to gain NFC supremacy.
The Eagles and the Bucs will be renewing a historic rivalry in Week 4. The Bucs beat Philly in the 1979 playoffs and the 2002 NFC championship en route to Super Bowl XXXVII, plus recent playoff wins in 2021 and 2023. The defending champions Eagles, led by Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and A.J. Brown, boast wins over the Chiefs, Cowboys, and Rams this season. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have defeated the Falcons, Texans, and the Jets so far.
While both the teams are undefeated so far, it is safe to say that the Eagles have gone up against very competitive teams, compared to the Buccaneers. This makes us question the Bucs reliability, and if they can pull off a win. Nevertheless, expect this game to be extremely tight.
In this clash of unbeatens, Jalen Hurts may hold the edge over Baker Mayfield to stay perfect longer. The Eagles have a superior roster, bolstered by Barkley’s run-game and Vic Fangio’s defense, which may give Philly the slight probability as the road favorites. Tampa’s razor-thin 3-0 margin, with minimal point differential, and various injuries scream vulnerability against Hurts’ dual-threat attack.

Expect Mayfield and the Bucs to falter first, with most analysists and pundits leaning on the Eagles to win this contest, handing Bucs their first L while Philly rolls to 4-0 start.
While we did say that Eagles may be able to take the win and move to 4-0, nothing’s guaranteed in the NFL. When we take both these teams’ defense, closer look tells us that Buccaneers have been better defensively than the Eagles so far.
The Bucs rank 6th in rushing defense, compared to the Eagles who are 24th in the league. The Bucs rank 5th in red zone defense, compared to Philly who are 7th. Meanwhile, the Eagles rank ahead of the Bucs in terms of their passing and scoring defense. Overall, however, the Bucs are placed at 11th place in total defense, to Philly’s 18th place.
Even offensively, the Eagles rank 27th in the league, compared to the Bucs who are at 11th place. The stats tend to lean towards the Buccaneers, however, as mentioned earlier, the Eagles faced some of the toughest competition so far, while the Bucs faced teams that may not exactly be the best, with razor thin point differentials.

Look out for this game to be a tight contest, with each team’s defense probably being the key factor in determining the winner of this contest.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
