Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig: Top Over/Under Odds, Betting Tips and More

Abhinav Goel

The 2025-26 Bundesliga season kicks off on Friday night with a blockbuster clash as defending champions Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena. Vincent Kompany’s side reclaimed the title last term in dominant fashion, finishing 13 points clear of Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern have already won the German Super Cup this season after a 2-1 win over Stuttgart.

For Leipzig, the new campaign represents a fresh start. Last season’s seventh-place finish marked their worst Bundesliga performance in nearly a decade and denied them European football for the first time in nine years. In response, the club turned to former Werder Bremen boss Ole Werner, who has brought in a new philosophy built around tactical flexibility and quick attacking transitions.

Bayern, however, remain clear favourites heading into the opener. With Kompany at the helm and a squad packed with quality, the champions will look to set the tone early in their pursuit of back-to-back titles.

Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Total Goals Over/Under Odds

Pick: Under 3.5 goals at +112 at BetMGM

Recent results for both teams suggest this Bundesliga opener is more likely to be a tight affair than a high-scoring shootout. Bayern’s last five matches have largely gone under, with four of them finishing at three goals or fewer (2-0 vs PSG, 2-1 vs Lyon, 2-1 vs Grasshoppers, 2-1 vs Stuttgart in the Supercup), with only the 4-0 win over Tottenham clearing the line.

Leipzig, meanwhile, have also been more restrained in competitive settings, with three of their last five ending under 3.5 goals, including narrow defeats to Atalanta (2-1) and Lens (2-1). While their pre-season routs of Toulouse and Sandhausen inflate their scoring stats, those came against weaker opposition. This fixture, however, is a top-of-the-table clash in a competitive environment, where Leipzig are expected to be more solid defensively and Bayern will likely control the tempo of the game. This is likely to lead a tighter contest, making Under 3.5 goals at plus money the smarter play.

Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Total Shots and Shots on Target Over/Under Odds

Pick: Over 30.5 Shots at -125

Pick: Over 11.5 Shots on Target at -105

(Odds via FanDuel)

Both Leipzig and Bayern Munich consistently generate high shot volumes, making this pick attractive for Friday’s season-opening Bundesliga clash. Bayern’s most recent competitive outing (2–1 over Stuttgart in the Supercup) produced 29 total shots on its own (16 Bayern, 13 Stuttgart). Leipzig, meanwhile, come in hot from a 4–2 DFB-Pokal win at Sandhausen where they fired 29 shots and had 10 corners.

With Kompany’s Bayern pushing territory at home and Ole Werner’s Leipzig pressing and breaking aggressively, this will be a high-attempt game on both ends, enough to clear 30.5 shots. With two high-tempo attacks and Leipzig unlikely to sit deep, this fixture sets up for an open contest that should also see 12+ shots on target land.

Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Total Corners Over/Under Odds

Pick: Total Corners Over 9.5 at -120

(Odds via FanDuel)

Bayern push high with their wingers and full-backs, often forcing opposition defences into clearances that generate corners. Against a Leipzig side that can concede lots of spaces during transitions, Bayern should have the opportunities to rack up corners. Leipzig themselves had 10 corners in their 4–2 DFB-Pokal win at Sandhausen. At -120, total corners over 9.5 offers excellent value in what is expected to be a fast-paced game.
