The PFA Awards 2025 took centre stage in Manchester on Tuesday, August 18. It celebrates footballers who made the biggest impact across the Premier League, Women’s Super League, and the English Football League. The evening honoured excellence, breakthrough talent, and unforgettable campaigns.

Mohamed Salah set a record with his third Player of the Year win. Meanwhile, Mariona Caldentey won her first after guiding Arsenal to European glory. The awards night showcased established legends and emerging stars. Alongside individual honours, the PFA also revealed the prestigious Teams of the Year.

Historic Night for Mohamed Salah and Mariona Caldentey

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah made history by becoming the first-ever player to win the PFA Men’s Player of the Year award three times. His 29 goals and 18 assists were crucial in Liverpool’s title-winning campaign. In the women’s category, Mariona Caldentey was named PFA Women’s Player of the Year for the first time after leading Arsenal to European success. This includes a decisive display in the Champions League final.

Young Talent and League Honours

Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa earned the Men’s Young Player of the Year award. Meanwhile Olivia Smith of Arsenal collected the Women’s Young Player of the Year honour. In the lower leagues, James Trafford stood out as Championship Player of the Year after a stellar campaign in goal. Whereas, Richard Kone of Wycombe Wanderers and Michael Cheek of Bromley claimed the League One and League Two awards respectively.
