The World No. 1 is bidding for his fourth Grand Slam title, as he takes on Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 French Open final. Courtesy his infectious style of play and personality, Sinner will receive the backing of fans worldwide – in the stadium and at home. This includes the world famous ‘Carota Boys’.

Sinner’s journey to the summit clash has been relatively straightforward. He breezed past challenging clay court opponents such as Jiri Lehecka, Andrey Rublev and Alexander Bublik. In the semifinal stage, the 23-year-old kept his 100% straight sets record by defeating Novak Djokovic 6-4 7-5 7-6(3) to advance to his maiden Roland Garros final.

The Carota Boys are a group of Jannik Sinner fans who have gained prominence for their bizarre carrot attires at different tournaments across the season. These globe-trotters travel around the world to back their superstar Italian, and remain unmissable due to their orange apparel. Carota translates to carrot in Italian. They have given tennis buffs hilarious sights in London and New York among other big cities.

The origination of this fan club dates back to 2019, when Sinner munched on a carrot during a changeover in Vienna. A group of Italian childhood friends and amateur tennis players who noticed this, thought it would be an interesting idea to dress up in carrot suits and support the now three-time Grand Slam champion. “For us, it’s an iconic scene,” said Alessandro Dedominici – one of the Carota Boys – about the graphic of Sinner eating a carrot mid-match.

The fan club came to fruition when the company Lavazza noticed these strange looking men at the Italian Open in 2023. Over time, they began obtaining more screen presence as they travelled around the world to watch their poster boy put the nation on the tennis map. Eventually, Sinner himself couldn’t help but recognise the Carota Boys and thank them for their unwavering fandom.

“It means a lot,” he expressed about his orange-clad cheerleaders. “It’s nice to see them every time that I play. I also follow them on socials, and you know, they make funny videos and everything.” He continued, “I knew when they were doing this that they are a little bit different from the other fans. I guess that was the case, so I’m very happy to have them.”

In all likelihood, expect the Carota Boys to roar their way into the stands of Court Philippe-Chatrier on Sunday – when Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz battle it out for bragging rights at Roland Garros 2025.
