Italian Pair, Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani Win Women’s Doubles Title at 2025 French Open

Errani and Paolini have won four WTA 1000 titles and a gold medal in Olympics.

Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani are the new women’s doubles champion in the Roland Garros. The Italian pair defeated Anna Danilina of Kazakhstan and Aleksandra Krunic of Serbia 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 in Sunday’s final. Last year, they lost in the French Open final but this time, they clinched the glory against the unseeded pair.

Paolini made an early exit from the women’s singles after a fourth-round defeat to Elina Svitolina. The Italian No. 1 put all her energy into the doubles event and secure her first Grand Slam title in this category. Roland Garros is luck for the pair as Paolini-Errani won the Olympic gold last year on the Persian clay.

Paolini-Errani Clinch Their First Ever Grand Slam Title in Doubles

Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani advanced to the final of the Roland Garros after overcoming Olympic sliver-medalist pair and No. 4 seeds, Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider 6-0, 6-1 in the semifinals. The Italian pair had a dominant campaign as they dropped only one set throughout the competition.

The Italian pair took the first set 6-4 but got a solid response from Danilina and Krunic as the unseeded pair forced the final set with a 6-2 win in the second set. The final set was a one-way traffic as Paolini and Errani won five straight games and later, clinched the set 6-1. Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini became the second all-Italian pair in tennis history to win the Women’s Doubles title at Roland Garros after Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci in 2012.

Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani won the Internazionali d’Italia a few weeks ago and it was their second title after the one in Doha. They won their seventh title as a couple but it will remains special for them as it came at the French Open. Last year, they came close to glory but lost to Gauff and Siniakova in the final.

Errani and Paolini have won four WTA 1000 titles and a gold medal in Olympics. It was also the first Grand Slam glory for Paolini as she reached two Slam finals in singles last year, but failed convert any of them into a title. Her partner, Sara Errani, 38 has a Career Grand Slam in women’s doubles. She won all four majors alongside Roberta Vinci between 2012 and 2014. Errani also secured the mixed doubles title in the 2025 Roland Garros with her partner, Andrea Vavassori.
