UFC 319 Results – Khamzat Chimaev Dominates Dricus Du Plessis; Lerone Murphy Gets The Upset Win Over Highly Touted Aaron Pico!

Zaid Quraishi

The Windy City has witnessed countless memorable moments in fighting history, from Muhammad Ali’s battles to the rise of local heroes who captured the imagination of sports fans worldwide. When the UFC rolls into Chicago, there’s always an expectation that something significant will happen. The United Center has become a modern temple for MMA where careers are made and legacies are cemented.

UFC 319 promised to be one of those nights that fans would remember for years to come. This was headlined by a middleweight title fight that had been building momentum for months. The card was stacked from top to bottom with fighters looking to make their mark, veterans trying to prove they still belonged at the highest level, and newcomers eager to announce their arrival on the biggest stage in the sport. With a championship on the line and several ranking implications throughout the card, Saturday night in Chicago delivered the kind of action that fight fans will remember.

UFC 319 Main Card Results

The main event lived up to every bit of its billing as Khamzat Chimaev finally captured the UFC middleweight championship he had been chasing for years. The undefeated fighter from Chechnya dominated defending champion Dricus Du Plessis. This was a performance that showcased exactly why he had been considered the division’s most dangerous contender. Chimaev controlled the action from the opening bell, securing takedowns at will and punishing Du Plessis with relentless ground control and heavy strikes from dominant positions. The scorecards told the complete story of his dominance, with all three judges scoring the fight 50-44 in favor of the new champion.

Lerone Murphy continued his impressive undefeated streak by delivering a spectacular knockout of Aaron Pico with a spinning elbow at 3:21 of the first round. The British striker weathered some early pressure from the highly regarded newcomer before landing the picture-perfect finish that left Pico unconscious on the canvas. Carlos Prates delivered one of the most dramatic finishes of the night. He knocked out Geoff Neal with a perfectly timed spinning back elbow at 4:59 of the first round. The Brazilian’s finish came just as the horn was about to sound, rivaling Max Holloway’s UFC 300 KO.

Michael Page outpointed Jared Cannonier via unanimous decision. The flashy British striker used his unorthodox movement and striking to perfection in the early rounds, dropping Cannonier multiple times while staying elusive. Cannonier made things interesting in the final round with takedowns and ground control, but all three judges scored it 29-28 for Page. Tim Elliott showed that experience still matters. After a bit of struggle in the first round, he submitted Kai Asakura with a mounted guillotine choke at 4:39 of the second round after controlling the grappling exchanges.

UFC 319 Preliminary Card Results

Baisangur Susurkaev made history on the preliminary card by winning his UFC debut just four days after earning his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. The undefeated Russian had to survive some early trouble against Eric Nolan but eventually secured a rear-naked choke submission at 2:01 of the second round. His quick turnaround from earning a contract to winning in his debut represents one of the most remarkable weeks in recent UFC history. Moreover, his teammate Khamzat Chimaev’s title victory later in the night made it an unforgettable evening for their training camp.

Michal Oleksiejczuk continued his impressive 2025 campaign with another first-round stoppage. He overwhelmed veteran Gerald Meerschaert with strikes at 3:03 of the opening frame. The Polish middleweight has looked sharper than ever since joining the Fighting Nerds camp. This victory marked his second first-round finish of the year. Loopy Godinez scored the biggest win of her career. She defeated former champ Jessica Andrade via unanimous decision in a competitive three round battle.

Alexander Hernandez picked up his third consecutive victory with a dramatic buzzer-beating knockout of Chase Hooper. He dropped the young prospect with a sharp right hand at 4:58 of the first round. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Hernandez landed the fight ending blow just as the 10-second warning sounded, then pounced with follow-up strikes.

UFC 319 Early Preliminary Card Result

Drakkar Klose collected one of the biggest victories of his lengthy UFC career. He outworked fellow veteran Edson Barboza over three competitive rounds. All three judges scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Klose. He used his superior power punching and pressure to edge out the speedy Brazilian striker in an entertaining back-and-forth battle.

Karine Silva earned a measure of revenge against Dione Barbosa, winning their rematch by unanimous decision. This was after losing their first encounter on the Brazilian regional circuit years earlier. Silva’s improved grappling game and submission attempts were enough to sway the judges in her favor. Joseph Morales claimed victory by submitting Alibi Idiris with a triangle choke at 3:04 of the second round. This impressive performance showcased his veteran savvy and improved ground game.
