Hermann Hugo Tilke is a German engineer and racing driver. He is the designer behind many Formula 1 and other motorsport circuits. Hermann Tilke is the most popular circuit designer in Formula 1 racing. He is the go to man for almost any new FIA grade circuit.

His most recent addition to the Formula 1 calendar is the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. Tilke’s circuits are known to capture the needs of a racing driver and give them a lot of chances to improve with runoff areas. They are the ideal designs that suit modern and fast Formula 1 cars.

Hermann Tilke is a civil engineer by profession. He also has experience competing in motorsports. He completed transport and traffic management at Fachhochschule Aachen. Tilke started his own company in 1984 providing solutions for motorsports and waste disposal.

As a former motorsports racer, Hermann Tilke has competed in touring car races. He also competed in VLN Endurance racing and 24 Hours of Nurburgring. He has experience winning races in the V8 Star Series in 2003 and 2004 with Dirk Adorf.
