Liverpool finished the season at Anfield with a 1-1 saw against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Trent Alexander-Arnold who is set to depart from the club after 21 years of service received a grand reception during his last game for the club.

After facing a negative reaction over the last couple of games, the English fullback was brought to tears by the gesture at Anfield. Alexander-Arnold during his farewell reception also talked about the efforts he’s put in for Liverpool as he expressed gratitude towards the support.

Trent’s Hope for Recognition: Honoring Years of Hard Work at Anfield

After the understandable upset among the fans seeing the local boy leave, Alexander-Arnold is hopeful of recognition in time. The 26-year-old has had several glorious moments for the club with him guiding Liverpool to their first ever Champions League title being the major one.

Nourished under German manager Jürgen Klopp, Alexander-Arnold will leave as the leading assists (64) as a defender in the Premier League. Talking about giving his life to the club and the reception, Alexander-Arnold in his post-game interview said:

“From the bottom of my heart, I hope that the fans and supporters will recognise what I did for the team. Never was a minute I didn’t think about the team, since | was six years old, it’s always about Liverpool”.

“To get the reception I got means a lot to me… I never felt so loved! From the bottom of my heart, I hope the fans recognise the hard work I did over the years”

After a nervy few weeks, Alexander-Arnold finally spoke out from his heart near the end. Leaving as a two-time Premier League champion, the local-born is already in the history books of Liverpool as one of the greats.
