Atletico Madrid Accuses Real Madrid of Tarnishing Spanish Football.

Real Madrid registered a protest against the referees of the Copa del Rey Finals against FC Barcelona. While the club cancelling their meetings on Friday, there were questions rising if the Los Blancos will appear in the El Clasico in Seville.

Addressing the speculations, Real Madrid has now released a statement on their stand in the situation. The Spanish capital expressed not playing was never an option as the values of football must prevail.

Reacting to the sequence, the world of football had different opinions about Real Madrid’s protests. Their City Rivals Atletico Madrid posted a bold tweet hinting at the situation. Addressing their thoughts on the protests, Atletico Madrid has accused Real Madrid of hindering the image of Spanish football.

The club’s post on X said: “This is unbearable. Stop tarnishing the image of Spanish football” . Additionally, The club, led by Enrique Cerezo, also revived the message #StopAcosoArbitralYa that he had used weeks ago during his match against Real Madrid in LaLiga and the Champions League.

‘Shame, Real Madrid Don’t Protest’ – La Liga President Javier Tebas

Putting in his thoughts on the Real Madrid protests situation, La Liga president Javier Tebas also expressed strong disagreement with the club’s stance. Expressing how it defies the morals, Tebas said “This is not football, this is controlling power” .

Urging Real Madrid to withdraw their protests, Tebas addressed the situation:

“This is not football, this is controlling power. Shameless. Real Madrid don’t protest, they push. They don’t complain, they threaten. They don’t raise concern, they punish. They don’t want to improve football, they want to control it.”

The Internet also saw the funny side of the protests as social media erupted with reactions. Additionally, La Liga side Celta Vigo admin also posted their lineup for the Copa del Rey clash trying to break the ice.

Real Madrid has lost six games of the past 10 to FC Barcelona. Coming in with some injury blows, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will also have to rely on his emergency lineup in the defensive half. Moreover, after the 5-2 defeat in their last outing, the Los Blancos will come as the underdogs in the El Clasico.

Ancelotti’s side has conceded nine goals in his last two games against FC Barcelona. With the stumbling defence matched up with the likes of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, it could turn out to be a long night for the Great Whites.
