Stuttgart Open 2025: Gauff Seeks Third Win Over Paolini
The world No. 4 Coco Gauff and No. 6 Jasmine Paolini will be up against each other in the last QF match of the 2025 Stuttgart Open. Fourth-seeded Gauff recorded a dominant win over Ella Seidel (6-1, 6-1), while Paolini advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating German wildcards Eva Lys and Jule Niemeier.
Gauff enters with a stronger start to the season, going undefeated at the United Cup, where she won over world No. 2, Iga Swiatek. She also made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, losing to Spaniard Paula Badosa. On the other hand, Paolini exited early in Melbourne, with a third-round defeat by Elina Svitolina. However, she bounced back by advancing to the semi-finals of the Miami Open, where she lost to world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
Coco Gauff leads the head to head record against Jasmine Paolini by 2-0. Gauff’s first encounter with Paolini came in the 2021 Adelaide 500, where Gauff defeated her in a closely contested match. Their second meeting at the 2023 Cincinnati Open was dominated by Gauff with a 6-3, 6-2 win.

On paper, Coco Gauff holds the advantage, having won ten career singles titles and a higher ranking than Jasmine Paolini, who has claimed two career titles.
