Critics have long questioned whether his skills could match his mouth, especially against the division’s elite. The doubters grew louder with each fight, claiming Pimblett was being protected by the UFC with favorable matchups. Last night at UFC 314, those critics were forced to eat a healthy serving of humble pie as Pimblett put on the performance of his career.

Going into his co-main event clash with Michael Chandler, many believed Pimblett had finally bitten off more than he could chew. Chandler, a former Bellator champion and UFC title challenger, represented a massive step up in competition. “Anyone in the top 4, top 5. I want that world title. Laugh al you want who say i will never be champ… But what now, you gang of mushrooms…I respect Dustin, Justin and Charles. Charles is the biggest legend out of them all and he gets called the best submission artist the UFC’s ever seen, well I dispute that. I’m here, so me versus Charles.”
