The former IBF super middleweight champion hasn’t fought since stopping Trevor McCumby last September. At 32, Plant knows his window for regaining championship glory isn’t infinite. His only career losses have come against elite competition, unified champion Canelo Alvarez and the fearsome David Benavidez.

Meanwhile, Charlo (33-0, 22 KOs) will face Thomas LaManna in the co-main event. The undefeated 34-year-old has been inactive, fighting just twice since 2020. His last appearance came in November 2023 when he defeated Jose Benavidez Jr. by unanimous decision.

Charlo’s career includes championship reigns at both junior middleweight and middleweight. LaManna (39-5-1, 18 KOs) enters on a nine-fight winning streak, looking to play spoiler to the Charlo-Plant plans. For his part, Resendiz (15-2, 11 KOs) has shown he is no pushover, having stopped former unified champion Jarrett Hurd in 2023.

The tension between Caleb Plant and Jermall Charlo dates back to July 28, 2023. During the weigh-in for the Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr. event, Plant slapped Charlo backstage. The incident, captured on video, showed the normally composed Plant completely losing his cool. Security quickly intervened, but the damage was done, both to Charlo’s pride and to any semblance of professional respect between the fighters.
