The Green Bay Packers are a perennial playoff team but their regular season success has not translated to success in the postseason. Jordan Love will be leading the offense in his third season under center. Following the departure of long-time QB Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay has looked like a different team although the winning hasn’t stopped.

Having said that, the Packers are now in a very tough division with the Lions looking to continue their dominance after two straight years of excellent play. The Vikings perhaps shocked many last season with their run and the Bears are getting better at least on paper.

Despite making the playoffs in 2024, Green Bay finished third in the NFC North. If the Packers want to get back to the Super Bowl where they haven’t been since 2010, they will have to improve and the draft is one way of doing so. Green Bay may be just a few good pieces away from going further in the postseason, and if they can find those pieces in the draft it will bolster a team that already has youth on its side.

What Are the Packers’ Draft Picks in 2025?

This year, the Packers have 8 picks from the seven-round draft which will be held in their own stadium from the 24th of April to the 26th of April. Green Bay has a selection in each of the first six rounds and two in the final round. Their first-round selection will be pick number 23 unless any trades take place.

Positional Needs for the Packers

There are three standout positions the Packers need to focus on in the draft. First and foremost, Green Bay should be looking to bolster its defensive line which has been left wanting more from their four-man pass rush. In Lukas Van Ness, Rashan Gary, and Kenny Clark, the Packers have a decent front but they have fallen short and need to add some punch from the draft. The good news for cheeseheads is that the 2025 draft is loaded with pass rushers and has a strong defensive tackle presence as well.

Moving along, the Packers should also look to add depth to their cornerback room, especially since Jaire Alexander’s future remains uncertain at Lambeau Field. Last but not least, Green Bay may look at strengthening the wide receiver room. They have been doing quite well rotating the ball amongst their receivers without a true WR1, but added depth won’t hurt.
