WWE Hall of Famer confirms retirement match in 2025
The name Goldberg has been etched in the history books of professional wrestling. The attitude era star recently announced that he is all set to have his final match next year in 2025.
The former WWE champion was present during the SEC Nation Show on ESPN as a guest analyst for the Florida vs Georgia College Football game on Saturday. While speaking on the panel, the hosts asked the 57-year-old if he had any plans of having one more match in the WWE.
Responding to it, he said, “The news of the day, per three executives, Nick Khan, Chris Legentil, and Paul Levesque, in 2025, Goldberg’s having his retirement match!” It is worth noting that nothing is set in stone at the moment and further details are yet to be awaited from the professional wrestling promotion.

As soon as the announcement was made, some fans were quick to call for Goldberg to battle Bron Breakker. However, he seemed to have hinted that his last opponent would most likely be Gunther. That does make more sense considering the angle WWE did where Gunther poked fun at the 57-year-old. Moreover, the WWE Hall of Famer tried to get at the Ring General but was stopped by WWE officials.

Gunther is one of the most reliable stars in WWE. And the idea of him going against the WWE legend makes sense as he can carry almost any opponent. If that tends to be the case, this will be a huge match. Whether it happens at WrestleMania or another big event, the fact WWE shared Goldberg’s announcement seems to indicate they are going big on the buildup.
