Mason Plumlee and Steven Adams get into a physical altercation during the second quarter.

Tensions flared in the second quarter of the Suns vs. Rockets game on Wednesday when Mason Plumlee and Steven Adams got involved in a physical altercation with 3:12 left in the half. With the Rockets leading 50-47, the fight escalated quickly, leading to both players being ejected from the game.

The incident started after Jalen Green gave the Rockets a three-point lead and Adams started walking back. However, Plumlee got in the way, leading to both players getting tangled up. And like a sumo-style takedown, Plumlee shoved Adams, sending him to the floor. The Suns’ center walked away from the incident with a cut above his eyebrow as tensions continued to boil over.

Both players received double technical fouls and were ejected from the game. Plumlee had four points and six rebounds, while Adams had one point and four rebounds before the incident.

The Rockets controlled the game and cruised to an easy 111-104 victory. Green had 29 points and seven boards while Sengun had 20 points and seven assists. The Suns, on the other hand, have got bigger issues to deal with. Kevin Durant only took one field-goal attempt in the fourth-quarter despite being 8-11 on prior field-goal attempts.

Players ejected from an NBA game face a $2,000 fine for their first ejection. If ejected again during the season, the fine increases based on their previous ejection fine. After receiving an ejection notification, the player must leave immediately and head to the locker room, separating from the team. Could Plumlee and Adams Face Suspension?

Mason Plumlee and Steven Adams could face suspension for their on-court tussle, as the NBA has been strict about physical altercations this season. In December, the league handed out suspensions after a fight between Naji Marshall and Jusuf Nurkic in Mavericks vs Suns game. Marshall was suspended for four games, while Nurkic was suspended for three games.
