Vegas Golden Knights Secure Future with Kai Uchacz and Braeden Bowman Signings

Vegas adds promising young forwards Uchacz and Bowman on entry-level deals

The Vegas Golden Knights have moved to secure young talent, signing forwards Kai Uchacz and Braeden Bowman to two-year entry-level contracts. Both players had been playing the 2024-25 season on AHL deals with the Henderson Silver Knights, and their performances earned them full-time NHL contracts.

Uchacz spent five seasons in the WHL, splitting time between the Seattle Thunderbirds and Red Deer Rebels. However, his exit from Seattle in 2020 was controversial, as he was removed from the team for making racially insensitive comments. After undergoing additional training and education, the WHL reinstated him, and he was traded to Red Deer, where he flourished.

Over three strong seasons with the Rebels, he racked up 106 goals and 199 points in 188 games. Despite going undrafted, Uchacz proved his worth in the AHL this season, contributing 12 goals and 23 points in 51 games.

Bowman took a similar path, signing with Henderson after four years in the OHL with the Guelph Storm. A consistent goal-scorer, he tallied 70 goals and 143 points in his final two seasons, finishing as one of Guelph’s top offensive players.

Though he was never drafted, his first pro season has been impressive. He currently ranks third in team scoring with 12 goals and 30 points in 52 games. While the Silver Knights have struggled this season, sitting at the bottom of the Pacific Division, these signings show Vegas’ commitment to developing promising young talent for the future.
