“You gotta draw a line” – frustrated Devin Booker calls for accountability as Suns struggle

The Phoenix Suns are a mess and February was a disaster, with the team winning just two of 12 games. Their recent four-game losing streak includes losses to the Toronto Raptors and a San Antonio Spurs team missing Victor Wembanyama.

After another disappointing loss, Devin Booker expressed his frustration in the post-game conference. He emphasized the team’s struggles with communication on the court, saying, “It could be fixed with just a little bit more talking.”

He also pointed out that the team often avoids addressing issues directly and relies too much on a “get them next game” mentality. The franchise had a strong start to the 2024-2025 season with a 12-4 record. However, team has continued to struggle on defense and injuries have halted their progress.

“At some point, you’ve got to draw a line, and you should have drawn it a long time ago,” he added.

He also wants to see players openly challenge each other rather than stay silent and leave things unclear. The Suns have been a disaster and much is to blame the front-office which traded away depth for star players. The Big-3 of the Phoenix Suns in Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal have not yielded results for the franchise as expected by the organization.

“I’d rather two people say the wrong thing to each other out there than nobody talk at all and leave the gray area,” Booker added.

What’s next for Phoenix Suns?

The Phoenix Suns had traded majority of their draft picks to acquire Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. As per reports, Kevin Durant maybe on the move in the summer and the Suns would want to get back a handful of picks for the superstar. On the other hand, Beal is a harder piece to move due to his salary and no-trade clause.

The Suns would look to add depth on their bench plus a starting center would be their top priority for the next season. The franchise is most likely to end up with a top-14 pick in a stacked draft and may look to make some moves to move up the board. Devin Booker also wishes to retire as a Suns’ player and it remains to be seen if his decision is gonna change or not.
