Philadelphia recently recorded their ninth straight loss

Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George announced a break from his podcast to focus solely on the game for sometime. Notably, George hosts a podcast titled “Podcast P with Paul George” with Jackie Long and Dallas Rutherford. In the podcast, they delve into various aspects of life including brotherhood, family, missteps and success.

George, who has been going through a tough season in terms of injuries as well as form slump, made the announcement before the 76ers recorded their ninth straight loss on Wednesday. They went down to the Knicks 110-105 on Wednesday, February 26.

Announcing the decision on his podcast, George revealed that he wants to focus on the game and his health. Not only this, but George who recently said that their doesn’t have ‘habits of a champion‘, wants to push the 76ers for playoffs contention.

“Fellas, it is no secret this season is up to this point man. It hasn’t been what we envisioned. I know my goal when I first signed with Philadelphia was to bring a championship to these amazing fans here. I still remain positive about that and that is still the case in where I am coming from,” Paul said.

“I want to let the Podcast P family know that after today’s episode with Dwight, I plan to take a break from the pod just to focus on getting my body right getting mentally right and, you know, help this squad make a push towards our goal to finish the season out give ourselves a chance to be in contentions to compete for a championship,” he added.

Notably, the 76ers are having a tough season. With injury struggles of stars like Joel Embiid, they have been able to win only 20 of their 58 games thus far this season. They are currently in the 12th spot in the East, and with every new defeat, their chances of making it through to the playoffs are fading.

Paul George scores 20+ points in first game after taking break from podcast

In what came as a surprise for his fans and the NBA world, George came up with a 20+ point performance in the first game after he announced his podcast break. This was his first 20+ point after nine consecutive games. The nine-time All-Star finished with 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

However, his effort fell short as the Sixers fell down to the Knicks 110-105 and recorded their ninth straight loss.

Talking about Paul, the 2016 Olympic medalist has had his own share of injury struggles this season. After losing the first few season beginning games due to knee injury, he was sidelined for a few more games this year due to an injured left pinky.

Despite making his comeback, he wasn’t able to get back to his red-hot form and had a series of some poor performances. However, considering his decision had an impact right from the first game, he might stick to his decision of remaining off the podcast.
