2025 NBA All-Star: Who won the NBA 3 point contest 2025?

The NBA All-Star Weekend 2025 kicked off on Friday 14, with a lineup featuring some of the most exciting events at the Chase Center, San Francisco. After a successful opening day, the second of the three-day extravaganza saw a series of contests like Kia Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest, Slam Dunk and more.

Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro won the 3-Point Contest with a total of 24 points in the final round. He edged past the Golden State Warriors’ Buddy Hield with one point to take home the title as well as a whopping prize money of $50,000.

Herro was one of the eight participants of the competition along with names like Jalen Brunson (Knicks), Cade Cunningham (Pistons), Darius Garland (Cavaliers), Buddy Hield (Warriors), Cam Johnson (Nets), Damian Lillard (Bucks), and Norman Powell (Clippers).

While the two-time reigning champion Bucks’ Damian Lillard aimed to create history on Saturday night by becoming only the third player in All-Star history to claim a three-peat, he failed to qualify for the final round. Lillard tallied 18 points in the first round, failing to advance further.

2025 NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest Score Tally

First Round

The first round of the contest saw Buddy Hield out-scoring his fellow contestants and paving his way through to the final round by scoring a whopping 31 points. With this, he tied with his teammate Stephen Curry and the Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton for the highest single-round score in the event.

The top-three scorers- Hield, Garland and Herro advanced to the third round, where the Miami Heat star moved past his fellow competitors to win the contest.

“I got lucky”- Tyler Herro on winning Three-Point Contest

The 25-year-old point guard, who is averaging at 23.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game this season, became the fifth Heat shooter to win the contest.

He joined the likes of stars like Glen Rice (1995), Jason Kapono (2007), Daequan Cook (2009), and James Jones (2011). Following the win, he expressed his delight and said that he got lucky.

Notably, in the final round, Hield could surpass Herro’s score by scoring all five shots in the corner; however, he ended up missing out on one shot.

Herro said, “I got lucky. I thought Buddy was gonna make all 5 shots in the corner, but I was lucky he missed. I’m just happy to be here.”
