Yesterday we saw the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles and what a show that was. The Eagles shattered the Chiefs’ three-peat dreams and they dominated on both sides of the field. The Eagles gave Mahomes the work as he was sacked 6 times, threw a pick-six, fumbled the ball once, and just had a passer rating of 10.7 at the half time. It was a shameful performance from somebody who’s considered the best in the world and also a player who was supposed to be the GOAT, if they three-peated, in many people’s eyes. If anything, his atrocious performance brings Joe Montana back into the conversation for who’s the second greatest QB of all time. That is how bad it was.

Many were thinking that the Chiefs can still make a comeback from the 24-0 deficit going into the halftime. However that did not happen. Speaking of comebacks, there was another person in the Caesars Superdome, who is actually considered the GOAT and that’s Tom Brady. Brady is considered to be the GOAT for many different reasons but it starts with 7 Super Bowl rings. Each and every Super Bowl win he had was historic but nothing compares to Super Bowl LI. Brady and the Patriots came back from a huge deficit to win the Super Bowl in overtime. Till this date, it is the only Super Bowl match that was decided in overtime.

Tom Brady led the way for the Patriots in Super Bowl LI

The New England Patriots played the Atlanta Falcons in the 2017 Super Bowl and at first it looked like everything was in control. Quarterback Matt Ryan, for the Falcons, was the reigning MVP that season and helped Atlanta reach all the way into the Super Bowl. The Falcons were up 28-3 late, in the third quarter and still lost the game in overtime. Brady led the way with 466 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, on 69.35% pass completion rate. Even though Brady threw a pick-six initially and was down by 25 points till almost the end of third quarter, he showed why he was the best Quarterback to ever play in the NFL.

Brady won his fifth Super Bowl after defeating the Falcons in overtime and in many people’s eyes, Brady became the GOAT after that game in particular.

In Super Bowl LIX, when the Eagles had not taken the foot off the gas, they were up 40-6 in the fourth quarter! Had the Eagles decided to do more damage, they could have easily done so. However, the Eagles were already in celebratory mood and they were busy showering down head coach Nick Sirianni with Gatorade. The game was long over before the fourth quarter and it will forever be remembered as the day when Chiefs’ three-peat dreams was snatched away.
