Niners Rookie Ricky Pearsall To Make Much Awaited NFL Debut Against The Chiefs

“Ricky Pearsall will be activated, full go”, confirmed 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan on Friday, October 18 while talking to the media. This update from the 49ers head coach has to be the highlight of week 7!

In an unfortunate incident on August 31, the 49ers rookie Ricky Pearsall was shot during a robbery attempt in San Francisco’s Union Square. Pearsall sustained a gunshot wound to the right side of his chest but walked to the ambulance with help of the first responders. And 50 days later, he is all set to make his NFL debut in a rematch of Super Bowl LVIII against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kyle Shanahan’s activation plan for Ricky Pearsall

Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan did not intend for the rookie wide receiver to make his NFL debut against the Chiefs. But after a week of practice, Pearsall is ready for his first regular season game against the Chiefs. When asked by the media what does it mean for the spirit of the team, Shanahan replied:

“The guys are pumped. He’s been around the guys for a while now. It’s been great to see him out there, we’re really happy for him. He had a hell of a week and we are pumped to get him out there.”

49ers Injury Update: Juan Jennings out, Jordan Mason and Deebo Samuel return

While speaking to the media, HC Kyle Shanahan gave updates on the injured players. Kickers Matthew Wright and Jake Moody are out for the game against Kansas City. 49ers wideout Juan Jennings is also ruled out for the week 7 Sunday Night Football game due to a hip injury he sustained vs. the Seahawks in week 6.

Despite losing some key players, the 49ers will be delighted on the return of running back Jordan Mason and wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Though they were limited participants during practice, head coach Shanahan confirmed the availability of both the players.
