After a 4-0-0 start, the Calgary Flames are already looking at adding new pieces to the team
After 4 games into the NHL 2024-25 season, the Calgary Flames are on a roll and might get already interested in strenghten their roster.
According to DailyFaceoff’s Frank Seravalli, the Flames are already making some calls for a middle-six center around the league.
After making some deep changes into their roster, none really expected the Flames to be as much competitive as they are right now. But the 4-0-0 start may have change the paradigme of their season.
“They don’t have any interest in tearing things down,” Seravalli said. “They’d actually like to beef up and bolster their lineup if at all possible. But it’s tough in the beginning of the season.”
Building up from a really hot start could be a good strategy to already get someone that fits into the group and gets confortable with the system as soon as possible.
However, this strong start doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re gonna be successful this season. In 1993-94 and 2009-10, they got the same start but only reached the playoffs only once.
This season, the Flames have score 19 goals in 4 games, tying for the 4th most in the league at the moment.
On Saturday, October 19th they’ll take on the Seattle Kraken to extend their winning streak to 5 games, which would be a franchise record to start the season.
