Saquon Barkley, running back for the Eagles, has had quite a season. After being on a losing teams for years and years, the Eagles have been a major turnaround for Barkley. The Eagles acquired Barkley from the New York Giants, and it’s a move that is hard to understand. Barkley was the Giants’ best player and the refusal to put the franchise tag on Barkley, has still has some fans scratching their heads. Nevertheless, Barkley came to the Eagles and showed the Giants why it was a mistake to let him go.

In the 2024 season, Barkley’s first with the Eagles, he had 2005 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 33 receptions, 278 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. This is the first time that Barkley was selected to the All-Pro 1st team and Barkley also named to his third Pro-Bowl honors. He has changed the Eagles’ offensive dynamics and has added more fire power and versatility to Nick’s Sirriani’s offense. His arrival certainly must have put a smile on Jalen Hurts as a lot of pressure is lifted off of the QB. Today we look at how Barkley has revived his career, by simply switching teams.

Saquon Barkley and the Eagles to the Super Bowl after a huge win over the Commanders

Saquon Barkley, simply put, was dominant going against the Commanders for the NFC Conference Championship. He absolutely laid his will upon the defense of the Commanders and they simply had no answer for him. Barkley had 15 carries, 3 rushing touchdowns, and 118 rushing yards going against the Eagles. The Commanders looked helpless at times when Barkley rushed with football. Speed, agility, strength, IQ, Barkley showed all of that in the Conference Championship game.

Barkley looked like he was on a mission and after playing out of his mind, the entire game, he has helped the Eagles reach the Super Bowl. Super Bowl LIX will be Barkley’s first ever appearance and he’s done it immediately after getting traded. No adjustment period was needed for Barkley, whatsoever, and he looks ready to win his first Super Bowl title.

As for the New York Giants, they are still struggling and missed the playoffs once again. The Eagles can thank Joe Schoen, vice president and general manager of the Giants, for Barkley. Sure there are other high ups involved in the trade but you can watch this clip and think for yourself.

From Giants to Eagles- What has changed for Saquon Barkley?

From getting a better head coach, to a better quarterback, to better decision-making from the organization. There has been a lot of changes for Barkley. The Giants, in the recent years, have made terrible draft decisions such as Malik Nabers. Nabers isn’t horrible but has played nothing like the 6th overall pick. While their defense is average, their offense is atrocious. Even though not all falls on the quarterback, the offense always start with them. Daniel Jones was just not a great fit for the Giants. Even though he produced, but for a team as bad as the Giants, Jones would need to be the best of the best.

For Saquon Barkley, he wanted to stay with the Giants but they weren’t willing to pay him as much as the Eagles were. This trade, will hurt the Giants for the decades to come because look at how far the Eagles have gone with him. All Barkley needed, while playing for the Giants, was the right squad and that wasn’t provided to him at all.
