It is no secret that the Kansas City Chiefs are headed to their third-straight Super Bowl. In the 2024 season, the Chiefs went 15-2 in the regular season. They knocked out that Houston Texans in the divisional round and have also sent the Bills home. Now they will face the Philadelphia Eagles, who is a strong contender, but many have already started believing that Mahomes will come out on top. If the Chiefs win their 3 straight title, a prestigious record will be broken. The Chiefs will become the first team in the history of the NFL, to three-peat. Something only a few teams, across all of the North American sports, has done.

After beating the Bills, the Chiefs are the first team in NFL history to reach all the way to the Super Bowl even after winning back-to-back titles. There were many teams that have tried but they never reached as far as the Chiefs have. Even the likes of Tom Brady, Payton Manning, or Joe Montana, never achieved this feat. What will Patrick Mahomes achieve if he three-peats?

Mahomes has already won two NFL MVPs, and three championships. However, if he wins his third-straight title, Mahomes become the 9th player in U.S Men’s Sports league, to win 4+ championships and 2+ MVPs before turning 30 years old. This will be one of the biggest achievement for Mahomes as no player in NFL history has done this before. He will truly be in a league of his own.

Which players have won 4+ Championships and 2+ MVPs before turning 30?

There are only eight players who have won 4+ championships and earned 2+ MVPs across U.S Men’s Sports league and they are;

NBA: Bill Russell is one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA and has won an astounding, 11 championships in his career! The Boston Celtics won 8 championships in a row with Russell and is one of the top 75 players in the NBA.

Magic Johnson won five championships playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and is also a member of the top 75 players. He is considered by many as the greatest point guard to ever play the game of basketball.

MLB: Yogi Berra won 10 World Series ring as a player and also won three MVPs during his playing career. He was also selected 18 times to the All-Star team.

Joe DiMaggio won 9 world series and 3 MVPs as a player in the MLB. He was also selected to the All-star team in each of his 13 seasons.

Mickey Mantle was a 20 time all-star, had won 3 MVPs, and won the world series 7 times in his career.

NHL: Wayne Gretzky is one of the most dominant NHL players of all-time. He won 9 MVPs (8 MVPs in a row), and won four Stanley Cup Championships and three Canada Cup titles.

Gordie Howe won 6 MVPs in his NHL career, which was most at his time and only Gretzky has more. Howe also won four Stanley Cup championships and finished first place in the regular season, 7 years in a row.

Guy LaFleur won the MVP awards two times and finished his career with five Stanley cups. LaFleur played for 17 seasons and is also considered one of the greatest players in the history of the league.

There is no player on this list from the NFL and if Mahomes wins his third straight title, he will be included in one of the most prestigious list across all of North American’s sports history.
