As we come closer to the halfway mark of the 2025-26 NFL regular season, the list of injuries continues to grow. The physical nature of this sport has already seen quite a few players face season-ending injuries, but the week 7 matchups brought with them a fresh set of injuries, which we will monitor here.
Looking ahead to week 8, there were a few injuries that will see players spend some time on the sidelines. With the season nearing the midway point of the regular season, having a healthy team from now onwards will be crucial for success. That said, here are some of the notable injuries from last week to keep an eye out for.
An unfortunate injury to the Buccaneers’ wide receiver Mike Evans means he is set to miss anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks of the season. Evans suffered a broken collarbone during the Bucs’ Monday Night Football (MNF) game against the Lions. Evans has just made his return after missing three weeks due to a hamstring injury.

Panthers’ quarterback Bryce Young had to leave the game early on Sunday against the Jets after sustaining a high ankle sprain. Backup quarterback Andy Dalton managed to finish the game as the Panthers went on to record their first 3-game win streak of Young’s career. The former number one overall pick is slated to miss at least the upcoming week 8 game against the Bills.

Washington Commanders’ signal caller Jayden Daniels suffered a lower body injury in the week 7 game against the Cowboys. Grabbing the back of his leg, Daniels jogged his way back to the locker room, but did not return.
The Commanders are hopeful Daniels can take the field for the week 8 clash against the Chiefs, but his status remains questionable for now.

Texans’ wide receiver Nico Collins suffered a concussion in their week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Whether or not Collins can suit up for the upcoming game this week will depend on his clearing the concussion protocol.
Things in Miami are just going from bad to worse. Tight end Darren Waller suffered a pectoral injury late in the Dolphins’ week 7 game against the Browns. Waller had been one of the few bright spots on the team ever since he was activated in week 4. However, his status for the game against the Falcons in week 8 remains unclear.
Packers’ wide receiver Dontavyion Wicks could end up missing some time after he suffered a calf injury in Green Bay’s win over the Arizona Cardinals last week.
Sticking to wide receivers, Brian Thomas Jr. left the game late in the fourth quarter in the Jaguars’ week 7 clash against the Rams due to a shoulder injury. Jacksonville has yet to provide any updates on the injury, but he will get additional time to deal with it since the Jaguars will be on their bye week this week.
There are a few players who could make their return this week, including Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who missed multiple games due to a hamstring injury. Vikings’ running back Aaron Jones has been on the sidelines since week 2 with a hamstring injury, but Minnesota has opened his 21-day return window.
New York Jets’ head coach Aaron Glenn is hoping to have his best wide receiver, Garrett Wilson, back in the mix. Wilson did not play in the team’s loss to the Panthers in week 7 due to a knee injury he suffered against Denver the previous week.
Here is a list of notable players carrying injuries ahead of week 8 of the 2025-26 NFL season.
Among all the players to be out for the season, the New Orleans Saints will add running back Kendre Miller and center Erik McCoy to that list. Miller suffered an ACL tear in the game against the Bears, while McCoy tore his biceps in the same game. Both players will now miss the rest of the season.
Other players who are also out for the season are as follows:
With up to 6 teams having their bye week this week, plenty of players will get the chance to restore their health and overcome any minor injuries that may be troubling them. For others, though, it is back to the grind.

nfl I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
