2025 NFL Free Agency: WR DeMarcus Robinson Is Headed to the San Francisco 49ers!

The San Francisco 49ers have lost several key players in the 2025 offseason already and it was time for them to move some moves. They lost Charvarius Ward to the Colts, Jaylen Moore and Elijah Mitchell signed with the Chiefs, Dre Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga reached deals with the Broncos, they also released 9x Pro Bowler Kyle Juszczyk, and even their receiver Deebo Samuels is headed to the Commanders. All of these players played a huge role to help the 49ers reach the Super Bowl a year ago, and losing these players to other teams is a tough pill to swallow.

To replace these players is no easy feat but the 49ers are already on the move, as they signed WR, Demarcus Robinson, to a 2-year deal, according to NFL Insider, Adam Schefter.

Drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft, Robinson played 6 seasons for the Chiefs and had brief stints with other teams such as the Ravens in 2022, and the L.A Rams in 2023 and 2024.

Robinson’s Agreement With the 49ers

Robinson signed a 2-year $9.5 million deal, including $6 million fully guaranteed, with the 49ers. After letting Deebo Samuels walk away from the team, the 49ers needed to add depth and that is exactly what they’ll get from Robinson.

He is an excellent addition as Robinson is a cost effective player who has always had decent production. In 2024, Robinson played in all 17 games and caught 31 passes, had 505 receiving yards, and scored 7 touchdowns. He could serve as an excellent second or third option for the 49ers and also hold down the fort before their WR1 Brandon Aiyuk makes full recovery from his injury that he sustained last season.

Robinson has played for some the biggest and most winning franchises throughout his career. He has been in the league for 9 years and has played in the postseason every single year, and won the Super Bowl in 2019 with the Chiefs. The 49ers have certainly added someone who knows a thing or two about what it takes to win at the highest levels.
