Anthony Davis has a special message for Mavs fans.
It’s been over a month since the Los Angeles Lakers shocked the fraternity by trading their superstar Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks. It was a sudden move that left everyone in disbelief, including Davis himself. Having spent over five seasons with the Lakers, winning a championship and making four All-Star appearances, the Big Man was traded overnight.
Davis, who played 312 games in purple and gold colors and averaged 24.8 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.2 was left stunned by the deal. However, with time, it seems that he has finally gotten used to being called a Maverick and is ready to be the next superstar for the Dallas side.
The 31-year-old recently spoke about the move stating that he has come to terms with his trade and recognizes that it’s just part of the business Speaking on MavsTV, he said, “At the end of the day it’s a business, and I understand that. I was just more shocked ‘cause I never knew that man, why would they trade me?’ I’m pretty sure on the other side for Luka [Doncic] as well, Both of us probably never thought we’d get traded unless we asked.”

Davis also shared a special message for his fans and said that the city and fans were down because of Luka trade but he is now here to win their hearts. “I know the whole city was down because of the Luka [Doncic] thing. At the same time, I know who I am as a player. I’m top-75 of all time. I just wanted to let the Dallas fans know. I’m here. I got y’all. I’m here now,” Davis said.
He added, while they have lost their superstar in Luka Doncic, they have also gained one in him. “I know you lost a superstar in Luka but you also gained a superstar in myself”, Davis added.

Anthony Davis made his Dallas Mavericks debut in a 116-105 win over the Houston Rockets on February 8. However, unfortunately for both him and the franchise, it remains his only game for the team so far.
Davis delivered an impressive performance, putting up 26 points, 16 rebounds, and seven assists before sustaining an adductor injury in the third quarter.
A month has passed, and the Mavericks are still without their newly acquired star big man. However, showing signs of speedy recovery, the 31-year-old was spotted on court taking part in pre-game workouts. But there is still no update on when he will return.
