Though early days still, his 2025 numbers already tell the story of a pitcher performing at an elite level: a 2-1 record with a microscopic 1.23 ERA, 28 strikeouts, and an outstanding 0.91 WHIP across 22 innings pitched. Even two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell was impressed, describing Yamamoto’s stuff against the Cubs in an Instag ra m story with just one word: “Nasty.”

Last night’s shutout performance against the Cubs marked the Dodgers’ tenth consecutive home win dating back to Game 2 of last season’s NLCS. With each dominant start, Yamamoto is cementing his place among baseball’s elite pitchers while proving the Dodgers’ massive financial commitment was money well spent. As his command improves and he continues adapting to Major League hitters, Yamamoto is quickly establishing himself as a cornerstone of the Dodgers’ rotation for years to come.
