On June 28, the WNBA will have a standalone fixture between the Washington Mystics and the Dallas Wings. The Mystics are on a surprising three-game winning streak and have an unexpected 8-8 record.
On the other hand, the Wings come into this game after an 86-94 loss against a Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever, adding to their woes. They are now 4-13. Will the Wings have any answer for the inspired Mystics? Discover our WNBA Same Game Parlay for the game, based on BetMGM.
The bookmakers believe this will be a close game. I beg to differ. The Mystics are playing some brilliant brand of basketball, winning clutch matches(Three of their last four wins have been within seven points).
On the other hand, Dallas has improved lately, but an 86-94 loss against the short-handed Fever exposed them. Overall, the Wings have done well lately, winning three of their last five games. Thus, they have some decent momentum despite the loss. However, Dallas’ frontcourt has been highly unreliable.
The Wings have the home-court advantage, but that hasn’t mattered much this season, so I’ll assume the Mystics cover the spread here.
Bueckers has more than lived up to the hype. She is tallying 18.4 points per game this season on a brilliant 46.1% shooting. She scored an amazing 27 in the loss against the Fever.
The Rookie of the Year frontrunner has put up 20 or more in four of the last five games. Thus, choosing her to cross the 15-point mark is one of the safest picks in an SGP setting.
Usually, I’d go for just two picks in the SGP setting (if permissible), but I am tempted to add a third one. Citron has been one of the best long-range prospects in recent years.
The rookie guard has knocked 1.6 triples per game on an excellent 38.2% clip from deep. Citron has nailed 2 or more in three of the last four games, and I reckon she will exploit the weak perimeter defense of Dallas.
WNBA SGP: Mystics -2.5, Bueckers O 15 points, and Citron O 1.5 three-pointers for +340

I am pretty confident in the above picks considering Mystics’ red-hot form. Citron has been a driving force in their efforts and if she has a good night, Washington can roll out a tremendous effort. The Mystics beat the Wings 89-81 just a few days ago too.
They have struggled away from home at the beginning of the season but are getting it together. On the other, Bueckers has been not just the best rookie but an All-Star level player lately, thus, a 15+ piece has become an usual occurrence.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
