A fading dynasty usually comes to a painful end. The Las Vegas Aces (14-14) are going through a similar turmoil currently. Their 53-point home loss against the Minnesota Lynx can be the final nail in the coffin. On the other hand, the Golden State Valykries (14-13) are the embodiment of teamwork.

They have encountered various injuries, but Coach Natalia Nakase is a genius. The franchise has exceeded expectations and keeps beating the odds. The Aces will once again come across the fierce Valkyries as they look to salvage some pride after a historic beating.

The Aces will enter the games after the worst loss in franchise history. They have been dealt furious blows this season. They defeated the Valkyries by 2 points in the last game but had suffered a 25+ points loss before that.

The current Golden State team lacks Kayla Thornton but has won three in a row even without her. I don’t expect the Valkyries, but they can cover the spread of 7.5 points here.

Veronica Burton: Assists

Burton has stepped up her scoring game in the absence of Thornton. Meanwhile, her dime-dishing capabilities have been intact. The Valkyries guard is averaging 5.3 assists and has dished out 7 or more assists in two straight games.

She had under 5 assists in four straight games before that. At any rate, I expect her to deliver at least 5 helpers here.

Wilson is an excellent rebounder and is enjoying another prolific season on the boards. She is tallying 9 RPG, grabbing 10 or more rebounds in three of the last four games. She is averaging 11 RPG against the Valkyries, grabbing 16 and 6 rebounds in the two games against them.

I expect the forward to be in the 9-12 rebounds range here.

Wilson O 8.5 Rebounds

These picks are moderately risky. The safest one here seems to be the Burton selection. Wilson is a primetime rebounder but doesn’t exactly stitch multiple double-digit rebounding efforts. However, the low-scoring Golden State team can give her that opportunity.

Gray is struggling on the scoring front these days. She is tallying 11.6 PPG but has been contained to a 6-9 points range in most contests these days. I believe the tight Valkyries’ defense will also deny her a double-digit night.
