WNBA Best Picks: Player Props and Prediction for Liberty vs Sun

The New York Liberty (17-9) has hit a wall again after a five-game winning streak. They have lost three in a row and are falling apart without their ace, Breanna Stewart. But Sabrina Ionescu has continued her heroics.

On the other hand, the Connecticut Sun (4-21) has been the worst team in the league. But their high-performer, Tina Charles, always stuffs the statsheet. On that note, here are my WNBA player props for the game and the prediction, too.

Sabrina Ionescu Props: Points

Ionescu has a huge burden to shoulder without Stewart. She is averaging a career-high 19.7 PPG, having scored 29 or more in three of the last four games. Thus, she is in the best stretch of the season. The Liberty PG will once again shoot a lot and is highly likely to go past 20 points against the Sun.

The Sun center has accumulated 20 or more points in five games this month. I expect her to go “Over” the mark again.

Streaky Mabrey has been battling a tough season due to injuries. However, she has shown promise during her return. Mabrey scored 8 points in the last game, after putting up 15 before that. She is averaging 14.3 PPG for the season but has been in single digits in five of the last six games. T

The Liberty has entered another lean period because of a major injury. But they have both the tools and the fire to bounce back. On the other hand, the Sun has two wins in the last seven games, which is ironically one of the brightest periods for them in the season!

Thus, the Liberty should get the job done despite their lineup fluctuations without Stewart and Nyara Sabally. They are most likely going to cover the spread.
